I have twin nieces who are just a little over four years old and one day they came over while I was working on a review for a Godzilla movie, they were fascinated with the movie and now whenever they come over they "Wanna watch Zilla!" and they will sit in my lap and watch the Godzilla fight off numerous foes. Of course I've got to fast forward through all that boring "people stuff" but they really get invested with what is going on with the monsters, especially if Baby Godzilla makes an appearance.

So if you have little girls in your home maybe you should give them a break from watching Disney Princesses and show them a Godzilla film, they may just fall in love with the big green galoot.

I'm sure all of us can relate to wanting to skip the boring people stuff.

That is so wonderful. I'll bet they would adore Godzilla's revenge, once the adventures started. Or Son of Godzilla.

We've watched Son of Godzilla and they fell in love with the smoke ring blowing little monster. Their other favorite character is Jet Jaguar because they apparently also really like robots. My nieces are kind of awesome.

I'm glad you're being such a positive influence on the tykes, Mike. And there's two of them -- what a bonus! It speeds up the whole process of "they'll tell two friends, and they'll tell two friends, and so on, and so on, and so on..."

I wonder how they'll feel about the twin baby Mothras, when that time comes?

Its a natural for kids, I think. I got bit by the bug in my early years. I recall seeing Daimajin at around 4 or 5 years old.

The problem is that when I was a kid they aired on Saturday afternoons on a couple of stations, and I even got to see several of them because my local theatre would often pick a Godzilla film for the Saturday kids matinee, but these days all you are going to find on TV is the new stuff. It's now up to the parents to hunt them down and expose the new generations to the kaiju.

Well, it ain't that hard! If they're dyed-in-the-wool kaiju fans they should have an array ready to hand in many cases.
