Does anyone know the origin of Guiron's knife-nose design? Is he based on a terrestrial specie or just the chopping knife on the artist's kitchen counter?

Being Gamera, I'm betting Daiei(sp?) studios never actually thought to offer an explanation.

"Here's our draft design for the next monster, sir?"

"He's got a knife for a head."

"Yes sir."

......

"Cooooooolllllll!"

I have no idea about the inspiration behind the character design, but I can tell you that his name derives from "guillotine."

I know of nothing that looks like Guiron. He literally looks like a butcher knife with limbs and a face. So I'd go with the latter.
