If a baseball team were to get 13 walks and 7 hits in a game, how many runs do you think they would score? In the case of the New York Mets on June 1st 2016 in a home game against the Chicago White Sox, they scored exactly 1 run in 13 innings of play. Since the Mets were playing like the Mets of yore, they also hit into no fewer than five double plays and left the 6th inning with the bases loaded. As a further embarrassment, in the 13th inning White Sox reliever Matt Albers, who looks like he weighs at least 400 pounds and runs like it, got his first hit in 9 seasons, a double. After reaching 2nd base, Albers advanced to 3rd on a wild pitch and then scored on a sacrifice fly. It was his first ever run scored in his career. This was only the 2nd game since 1893 that a team got 13 or more walks in a game and yet scored 1 or fewer runs. The last time a team did it was the 1953 Brooklyn Dodgers who managed to overcome the embarrassment and win the National League pennant that year with a 105-49 record. For the White Sox, it was the first time a team pitcher both scored the go-ahead run and won the game since Bob Locker on August 7th 1966.

Why does it seem that so much stuff like this happens to the Mets?
