I assume he's talking about the brilliant moment when Alan throws the girl to the undead horde in the hope of saving his own ass, and the zombies pause in their advance to look at him like, "Christ, what an fuzzyduckling!" before chowing down on her.

I thought so too, but he's a douchebag in every single scene, so...

Well, it's official, the 2017 Kong: Skull Island will be set in the same universe as Godzilla '14, after which we'll get Godzilla 2, and then Godzilla vs. Kong in 2020. Legendary producer Thomas Tull spoke of bringing new and old monsters into this universe. Yay!

This I can live with. Cheerfully. 8)

Now, what do people want to see in the next iteration of Goji offerings? Me, I want to see much more city stompin' and a lot less teary-eyed human drama. Or if there IS human drama, make it be about the city-stompin' scenes. Remember the little girl crying piteously next to her radiation-sick mom in the first-aid station in the original movie? That was affecting. That meant something. Not a hunky hero miraculously bypassing the danger as his pretty wife and chubby-cheeked son simultaneously miraculously bypass the other danger so they can all hug at the end in the refugee-clogged stadium.

I'd like some giant monster fights conducted in full daylight with some creativity and choreography. Buildings get knocked down, but does any of them grab the Statue of Liberty, rip it off its base and pound another monster with it. I'd love to see a fight from a tight mountain range where monsters leap from one peak to another or yank red woods. Or engage in a foot chase over a section of Death Valley.

One of the details I loved about Pacific Rim was the choreography of the fighting. Who doesn't love watching an ocean liner used like a baseball bat. Or electric cables used to strangle or entangle a monster. Those cables can't be easy to snap.

So, tool-using kaiju scenes? 'Kay, that's cool.

Some preternatural abilities -- abilities just beyond what ought to be possible -- might be nice to see, too. Say, if the Rodans could not only dive into the water like the male MUTO, but use their swimming ability to deliberately cause a bit of a massive wave (say, on New Year's Eve as the S.S. Poseidon passes through on her last journey before heading to the glue factory...would that not have explained the events in the Irwin Allen original very, very nicely?). Or the Mothras using their web to pull down office towers to create a barricade to hole up in.

More appalling giant parasites that feed off the monster host. Irritants to the giant monster that get scratched off like an itch. Absolute horrors to us.

Kaiju procreation! Let's get some R ratings in these.

Boom-chicka-rawr-rawr.

Now that I did that, I just had a nightmare vision of a Japanese re-make of Son of Godzilla with a scene featuring Minya being "pushed out" of Godzilla in the "stirrup" position. Forceps courtesy of Gigan.

When even Gary Busey getting mauled to death by a barn owl is tepid and uninteresting, you've seriously failed as a filmmaker.

I dunno, they sort of have that emotionless killing-machine quality that you see in some artist depictions of Dunkleosteus. We'll see how it looks in the context of the film.

And he has the battered profile of a pugilist. That's a new twist.

Well it definitely seems like the movies is going to sound ominous.
