Dammit! I was just writing something in the Purchasing thread and hit "Post", only to find it was locked!

To retype... I've expanded my collection of smell'ems (found some small bottles of cologne on sale on Amazon). The Marina De Bourbon is what fragrance folks would call a "Water" base, described as the ozonic aroma of wet air after a thunderstorm (I love descriptions like this... there's a whole wheel of them at the Fragrances of the World site. It's a good place to try and figure out what you might like in a scent, or to try and find something new that's similar to an old scent you used to like but isn't made anymore). There was no bourbon, despite the name, but some nice wood base notes.

The Best Of Chevignon had great citrus notes.

And then there was the Cacharel, which had the coolest looking bottle, IMHO, but was dissapointing. It was also said to be citrusy, but I found it redolent of floral notes, reminiscient of older women's perfumes.

Congratulations on the promotion!

Most interesting recent purchase: Several kinds of exotic edible mushrooms at a farmer's market, including Lion's Mane, which I have never seen before.

If I happen to read something in the Chattanooga Press of a health care worker rescued from atop the Imax theater building downtown where she was seen singing the Grateful Dead's "Fire on the Mountain" as an ode to Lookout Mountain, I'll have an idea about the affect of exotic edible mushrooms....

Got an Amazon gift card for my birthday, so I went on one of those "buy a bunch of little things shopping sprees". Just a bunch of stuff that I'd normally never think of to buy for myself.
The list of booty:
A new Oakland A's baseball hat
Some new swim trunks
A used 1974 first edition copy of Gustave Doré art prints
A set of moustache scissors and comb
Some cocktail mixing paraphernalia (including a large shaker, stirring spoon, muddler, ice crusher, and even some fancy plastic garnish swords)
... and, because I'm nuts, a little bottle of one of my favorite colognes from my younger years, Coty Musk for Men.

Serious retail therapy this F squared (Effing February). I just bought $150 in antique marbles, for starters. And my To be Read bookpile is starting to conceal my movies, if you can believe that.

Stopped by a DVD house last night and came across a bunch of Jackie Chan films on clearance that are going out of print here and are mad expensive on MercadoLivre (the Brazilian ebay). I bought most of them:

Spiritual Kung Fu
Dragon Fist
Police Story 2
Dragon's Forever
Twin Dragons

Don't feel bad. I'm sure most of us here have been down that road, myself included!

With this thing called the "internet" I think free pornography is the best price.

Except that the Internet has considerable gaps in what's available. And sometimes I just like having the DVD around.

Well, almost as dirty as Pronography....

I recently bought Robotech RPG Tactics the miniature wargame, and All Quiet on the Martian Front miniature wargame.

Yes, yes.... I like to paint the pants on little, plastic/metal men!
